Hi Zane,
I hope that your week is going well. I am certainly praying for your work on the commentary on Romans. I hope that it is progressing well.
Here is a brief question concerning a topic that is relevant to a number of Christian men and women in this area. [We have a fairly large Pentecostal Holiness influence.].
- Is 1 Corinthians 11:14 giving a divine hair length for men?
- Is 1 Corinthians 11:15 teaching that a woman should NOT cut her hair? Is it giving a divine hair length for women?
Thanks for your help in God’s Word.
Bill

Thanks, Zane.
But could you, in a brief way, state what these two verses ARE teaching?

Bill,
I think the specifics are deliberately not specified since the gospel was destined to go into many societies and cultures. “Long” and “short” have different meanings in different societies.
Our own society treats long/short hair for women/men as a relative thing. If men and women adopt the unisex look then that violates this scripture. In our culture if men wear their hair too long they invite the observation “he looks like a woman” and ditto vice versa.
Take care,
Zane
